Seminar “Eye-tracking in Research and Education”

Seminar Series

On October 6–8, the Faculty will host an international seminar led by researchers from Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic). The event will present the application possibilities of eye-tracking technologies in education, cartography, and the analysis of interactive maps. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the latest research equipment, innovative data analysis methods, and practical aspects of preparing experiments. The lectures will be held in English.

Programme:

  • October 6 (Monday)
    Introduction to eye-tracking research: eye-tracking equipment, applications in education and map analysis, comparison of printed and online atlases.

  • October 7 (Tuesday)
    Innovative methods of eye-tracking data analysis (“GazePlotter”, “ScanGraph”, “EyetRack”, “ET2Spatial”, “BiSigma” software). Practical workshop: how to prepare an experiment with “Tobii Pro Glasses.”

  • October 8 (Wednesday)
    Comparison of professional and low-cost eye-tracking devices (“SMI”, “GazePoint”, “Tobii”, “EyeTribe”, “PupilLabs”). Student research using eye-tracking: Covid dashboards, visual analytics tools, weather maps, and plans for gaze-controlled maps.

The seminar is open to the Faculty and the entire University community.
