Scientists of KTU FSSAH conduct scientific research in the University‘s priority research fields, they participate in national and international projects, organise conferences. Faculty departments and staff significantly contribute to the strategic goals of the University; expert opinion of the Faculty‘s scientists is valued in science and public media.

Research areas

The vision of this research is: while creating fundamental and applied knowledge of educational science, to contribute to smart society development by creating educational knowledge thesaurus so that people living in Lithuania and Lithuanian citizens living abroad would be able to actively take part in life and work activity.

Research related to scientific understanding of modern society’s complexity, threats, and development challenges. The horizontal component of research is studies of risk and safety. Other research areas include civil society and sustainable development research.

This area of research is experimental, belonging to different fields, and innovative, described by a new word “Numanities“(new humanities). The goal of Numanities is to make sure that progress is a movement not forward or backward but more towards the object (people, environment, etc.)

Research area of analytical perspectives: synthesis of acoustic and visual culture, technologisation of language and new media “literacy“, a non-linear narrative and revolutionary paradigm “mobility turn”, social characteristics of culture users, critical theory of media and historical and cultural media dissemination.

The goal of translation research group is to implement highest level research of interdisciplinary translation and translation technologies in language industry by ensuring interaction between science and studies in science-based study programmes of translation and linguistics.

The interdisciplinary nature of public governance (combining science of public administration, politics, law, economic, etc.) determines versatility and complexity of topics. Research includes management aspects in multi-level system of public governance in various contexts/ public governance areas.
