Writing Clinic
60 minute writing consultations throughout the academic year.
You are invited to sign up for Writing Clinic appointments for individual writing tutoring to help you learn how to organise, write and revise academic papers. Consultations with Gavin Stewart and Brigita Dimavičienė will help you identify your own strengths and weaknesses as a writer, you will also be able to develop your own writing skills and proficiency. You will be provided with short-term coaching on specific aspects of your academic writing.

KTU Centre of Foreign Languages organises foreign language courses for adults wanting to learn progressively or improve already acquired language skills.
During the course you will improve speech, listening, reading, writing skills as well as learn and strengthen grammar knowledge, and expand your vocabulary. Dynamic teaching methodology is focused on developing communication skills.

The consultations are 60 minutes long; after the registration is confirmed, you will be asked to send a 3 page text of your own which will be discussed during the appointment. Please, note, that we do not provide a proof-reading service, thus, during the appointment you will have an opportunity to discuss the text, receive feedback on how to improve your writing skills, so you can become a better writer.

The Centre of Foreign languages of Kaunas University of Technology is an accredited English language testing centre for civil servants. In our Centre civil servants and candidates for the civil servant positions can take international English language examinations and tests to determine language level:
This international English language test helps to determine the level of general English achieved by the applicant. After passing the written test, applicants are additionally tested orally. Those who pass the test will be granted a certificate in the form set by the Civil Service Department.
The date and time of the test

KTU Centre of Foreign languages is a certified examination centre for Pearson Test of English General (PTE General).
International “PTE General” examination represents the state-level matura examination in English. After passing the exam, an international certificate is issued which is recognised by many universities in the United Kingdom, Lithuania and other countries.
KTU Centre of Foreign languages organises preparatory courses for “PTE General” examination.
For the candidates to the civil service and civil servants
When accepting to the civil service, the Ministry of the Interior considers “PTE General” certificate to be an appropriate proof of English language knowledge. International “PTE General” certificate is valid for an unlimited time, thus ensures a proof of English language qualification for all professional career.
About the examination
“PTE General” is one of the most professional examinations to qualitatively assess the English language knowledge. The examination consists of two parts: written (listening, reading and writing) and oral (speaking). For more information, visit http://balticexamboard.eu

KTU Centre of Foreign languages prepares the B2 level preparatory course for “PTE General” examination.
Experienced teachers will help you get prepared for the examination. Teaching is consistent, all English language skills are improved. Classes are held in small groups of 7-10 people.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination is designed to assess the knowledge of English language of people intending to work or study abroad. IELTS is recognised in educational institutions in Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada and the USA as well as in various organisations. The examination consists of four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. IELTS examination focuses on those who have average or higher level of English language knowledge. Test results are valid for 2 years.
