Content quality and acceptability analysis of machine translated websites from the end-user perspective

Project no.: S-ST-22-20

Project description:

Machine-translated content of websites and pages from a foreign language into Lithuanian is not necessarily accurate and correct, but readers may not be aware that the content they are reading on the internet is machine translation. So far, the quality of machine translation into smaller, less-resourced, less popular languages such as English, French, German, Russian or Chinese is not high. Machine translation from various languages into Lithuanian cannot be fully trusted because the generated quality is not always very good, and inaccuracies and errors in the result can be very significant. The study aims to determine and assess whether readers accept a machine-translated website and its content as authentic, accurate, high quality and reliable.
