This study programme combines communication and technological sciences and prepares communication specialists who are able and keen to work in multicultural environment in business, government or public sector. Study curriculum is built upon project-based activities and real issues’ solving. Practitioners and lecturers from abroad often participate in the study process. An important part of this programme is technologies, “human touch in high tech environment”, which enable students of social studies to analyse, create, and manage content. It is the first Bachelor’s programme in Lithuania which lasts 3 years and is implemented together with the University of Twente (Netherlands). Students have a possibility to study in the University of Twente for one semester.

The curriculum and teaching staff make Music Technologies in KTU a unique study programme in Lithuania. Even though it seems that this programme combines two very different fields, nowadays technologies are an important part of music and entertainment industry. Students study musical language, copyright law, music production software, recording music, design of audio-visual advertisement. They learn the fundamentals of acoustics, sound technology and synthesis, interpretation and improvisation, working principles of electrical devices.

This study programme is taught in English and is for those who want to learn “to play with language”, to discover the secrets of electronic communication, to be able to analyse grammar of “visual design“, and to learn several foreign languages (French, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish or Swedish). The programme, combining three core disciplines of social sciences and humanities, allows graduates to gain knowledge of politics, philosophy and sociology. The programme is unique because, for the first time in the history of higher education, European and American academic systems are running together. The programme is the first of its kind in BA studies of public administration. The students will spend first two years in Lithuania, studying the courses at KTU compatible with the courses at UCF. From the third year, KTU students study together with UCF students in a joint group, sharing their study time between Lithuania and the United States. The graduates will become public governance leaders with global awareness and competency in public administration and non-profit management.

This study programme is perfect for people willing to become qualified translators, to speak 2 or 3 foreign languages, and to acquire knowledge of Lithuanian and English linguistics. The students learn to edit texts from various fields and to use newest translation technologies. A great attention is paid to a second foreign language, so students can reach C1 level. Since Lithuania joined the EU, the need of professional translators keeps growing. According to a research done by magazine “Reitingai” (Eng. Rankings), best translation specialists are prepared in this study programme.

The study programme of Composition and Performance of Electronic Music is the only postgraduate programme in Lithuania and the region which prepares electronic music creators and artists. This programme reflects the changes and needs of art market which manifest in an obvious technologisation of art and creative activities, and development of new areas of activities: experimental, entertainment, media (commercials, TV, cinema) music, etc. In these areas, unlike in traditional music, music composition is inherent in its realisation (performance), hence these studies are oriented towards music composition and performance based on specialised software, sound record methodologies, needs of current concert practice, aesthetic and artistic specifics of the presentation of media, peculiarities of composition and sound realisation in movies and websites, and the rest of creative activities related to sound, art and music technology.

Students of Digital Culture will delve into the interaction of society and media, they will study and critically assess relevant texts of digital culture critics and visionaries. The students will learn to analyse links between media research and practice and other sciences, to formulate philosophically justified arguments and issues relevant to digital culture. They will learn to create a perspective for comparative analysis, to compare media of different cultures based on integrated tradition of philosophy science, to model social and cultural consequences of media, to predict media evolution.

This master‘s degree programme will attract those who want to expand their knowledge of translation and localisation methodologies and technologies, and to improve skills of translation technologies and project management. One of the greatest advantages of this programme is the possibility to enhance their translation skills in various language combinations. Graduates will be able to solve translation and localisation problems, will be skilled in software, online text Lithuanisation, translation of audio-visual media, will be able to work with translation software, text alignment, term management, and other programs.
