Welcome Week for new international students starts on Monday

Around 170 new international students are joining Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) for Spring Semester 2019. Are you one of them, and feeling a little bit worried? Relax. KTU International Studies Office and a bunch of volunteers are already waiting here with Welcome Week prepared exclusively for all new international (degree, exchange, Erasmus+) students.

Starting on Monday, January 28 Welcome Week is the best time to meet your colleagues, other students who are starting their studies at KTU. A whole week packed with information, social events and tours will provide you with the opportunity not only to build new friendships with fellow students, but also to gain essential information about KTU study system, courses in English, residence permit, health care, services for students. We guarantee that after this week you will be equipped with knowledge on Kaunas and Lithuania. And, of course, you’ll have a lot of fun. KTU Campus and city tours, trip to Vilnius, ice-skating are just a few leisure activities we prepared for you not to get bored during your first days in Kaunas.

127 exchange students, coming though Erasmus+ and other programmes are joining KTU this spring. Our University is the most popular among exchange students from France (31), Turkey (18), Italy (15), Germany (9). Also, students from Czech Republic, South Korea, Spain, Poland, Mexico, Finland, United Kingdom and other countries are coming. After a while we will welcome students from the US and Armenia. The most popular faculties among exchange students are Faculty of Chemical Technology (25), Faculty of Informatics (21) and Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (20).

In spring KTU will welcome more than 40 new degree students. The majority of the are coming from India. Also, there are students from Ecuador, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Iraq. For the first time, KTU will have students from Nicaragua and Yemen.

The most popular study programmes among new degree students are Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management, both of them are delivered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design.
