The first candidate, Antanas Jasenka, is a composer and an Associate Professor at KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (FSSAH). His research includes the composition of electronic, electroacoustic, and acoustic music, synthesis of arts, interdisciplinary arts, and music technologies.
The second candidate for the prize is Gražina Janulytė-Bernotienė – an architect and an Associate Professor at KTU Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (FCEA). Janulytė-Benotienė studio designed 3 scientific buildings on the KTU campus. 2 of those buildings’ projects were won in architectural competitions – the integrated centre of studies, science and entrepreneurship KTU Santaka Valley and experimental and prototyping laboratory centre M-Lab.
The Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts is the highest evaluation for a creator, recognising and acknowledging the artist’s exceptional style and work. The award is given for the most significant works of the past seven years. No more than two prizes can be given to an artist for their long-term contribution to culture and art.
