Starting on Monday, August 26, Welcome Week offers a smooth start for all the new students of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). A full week packed with events will allow local and international students to mingle together and to get to know their study and living environments.
Check Facebook to not to miss any of the events planned for the entire KTU freshers community. Below, we would like to highlight some of the events planned specifically for international students.
Are you feeling a bit nervous coming to study in a foreign country all alone? Don’t be. KTU International office and a bunch of volunteers during the Welcome Week will make you feel at home. Next Monday and Tuesday you are invited to register, to sign the study agreement and to get to know your fellow international students. At the beginning of the week, you will be busy with settling in, getting to know your dormitory environments and campus around it. On Tuesday night you all are invited to the Lithuanian Night to taste traditional food, to try your legs at folk dance and to train your voices at singing.
On Wednesday, August 28 you will have your introductory lessons at the faculties where you will get all the essential information about your University – about the academic and leisure opportunities, where to seek support and to whom to turn for advice.
Coming to study abroad you are surely a big-picture person. Therefore, we invite you to get better acquainted not only with Kaunas but to take an opportunity to visit the capital Vilnius and the old capital Trakai. Register for a tour on Saturday and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Welcome Week will end with a picnic in the Panemunė forest park on Sunday.
