This week the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education has published the results of study programmes’ accreditation for 2010–2016. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is among the leaders in Lithuania by the number of programmes accredited for a maximum of 6 years’ period.
The greatest share of the best quality programmes at KTU is at the field of social sciences. Of the 13 social sciences’ study programmes offered by the University, 11 (85 percent) have been recognised as having no essential imperfections and have been accredited for 6 years during the mentioned period. Also, this is arguably the best score among Lithuanian universities.
In total, 61 percent (90 out of 148) KTU study programmes have acquired a maximum accreditation. By this result KTU is among the leaders in Lithuania.
Statistics publicised by Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education gives an opportunity to look at the studies in Lithuanian higher education institutions from various angles: by their field, length, and stage. More than 90 percent of evaluation has been undertaken in state institutions.
“The results reveal that the level of higher education studies in Lithuania depends very strongly on the institution chosen”, says Nora Skaburskienė, the Director of the Centre.
